Vizhinjam lighthouse is located near Kovalam beach in the Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala. The lighthouse started functioning on 30 June 1972.
If you are planning to visit Kovalam beach please take time to visit the lighthouse also. The costal view is spectacular from the lighthouse.
The lighthouse tower has a height of 50 meters. The lighthouse was commissioned in the year 1960 as per the Directorate of Lighthouses and Lightships website.
