Malakkapara is a small hill station surrounded by a forest area situated near Thrissur - Tamilnadu border. The main attraction is the forest ride en route to Malakkkapara. You might see a lot of wild animals on the route.
On the route, if you are lucky you will see animals like Indian Giant Squirrel, monkeys, wild pigs, different species of monkeys, deer, leopards, peacock, bison, Simhavalan kurangu (Lion-tailed macaque).
The best route for sightseeing is from Chalakuddy in Thrisur district via Athiapally. The road is through a dense forest. No the way you will see Thumboormuzhi dam, Dream World Wat er theme park, Silver Strom water theme park, Athirapally waterfalls, Charppa waterfalls, Vazhachal waterfalls, Peringalkuthu dam, Sholaryar dam, Valpara, etc.
